Eri peace silk is produced without harming the silk worm, the silk strands are collected after the moth emerges. The silk therefore is soft but without the glossy long strands that silk is known for. 
 
Skeins take up dye beautifully, and are tied loosely, ready for the dyepot, or to use as is for a natural look.
