About the event
Learn to weave on a Rigid Heddle Loom with Mary Campbell and Cynthia Donahey, two accomplished weavers from our local Lake Charlevoix Spinners and Weavers Guild! Students will learn about selecting yarns for different kinds of weaving projects, warping the loom, hemstitching and weaving their own scarf or table runner.
This 5-hour workshop is broken up into two sessions. First meeting is Thursday 1/15, 10am-1pm. Students may bring their looms home between classes and if they choose, they can use new skills and warp again at home and make multiple projects!
The second session is two weeks later, Thursday 1/29 10am- noon, where we will cover finishing techniques, troubleshooting, fixing mistakes and intro to pick-up sticks.
Loom rental and tools included for 2 weeks between classes.
Students must provide their own yarns. (We suggests 2 X 100g skeins of strong DK or worsted weight wool for your first…
