About the event
Workshop description
Visible mending is a nod to the age-old tradition of prolonging the life of our clothes and our fabrics while artfully caring for them. Mending what we have is a powerful way to take part in the Slow Fashion movement and to connect.
In this class, we’ll learn techniques borrowed from the Japanese (Sashiko stitches and Boro cloth) and our quilting roots. We’ll practice our stitches on a small hand-sewn pouch project.
Your tuition includes:
2 sewing needles, sashiko thread, written instructional materials, all of the materials to construct a pouch.
